AMA By-Laws and Standing Rules
I was looking at the 2002 Membership manual and noticed something odd that raises questions.
On page 10 there is a major heading, "ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION BYLAWS OF THE ACADEMY OF MODEL AERONAUTICS, INCORPORATED As of July 1997"
I know, you are saying "What is odd about that?". The answer is simple. I am an AMA Leader Member and I do not recall voting to change the bylaws in 1997. In fact, I am not aware of any changes to the bylaws in the last decade.
So I looked further to see if possibly the date was referring to the Standing Rules. Those seen to be dated as they were adopted and or modified. The dates seen in that section range from January 30,1982 to April 1, 2000. That fairly clearly eliminates the Standing Rules from the "As of" date.
Anyone have any ideas?
There are other questions raised in that portion of the Membership Manual, but this one was a surprise.
