Default RE: Quique Somenzini YAK-54S 73"

Got mine yesterday. Was impressed by the packing alone. Every piece wrapped in plastic then an outer layer of bubble wrap. This is the first ARF I have seen with perfect covering. All surfaces adhered and not one bubble... Once the wife and kids went to bed I was able to start working on it. Got as far as the stableizer and verticle fin installed.
So far, I may have a potential problem with the engine installation. I have a Saito 220 that I would like to use, however, am not sure if it will fit.... Due to the engine's size there is a clearence issue with the carborator and the fire wall. I have the mount from Saito for the 220 that give's the clearence needed, but, then the engine to protrudes to far out of the cowl. Should I cut the center cowl hole larger? I havn't done any measuring yet or tried the provided mount (not sure about the carb. clearence). And what about balance? Any suggestions........??
