Default RE: Quique Somenzini YAK-54S 73"

All,

Servos....let's talk servos.

I was going to go with JR Sport ST125MG's on the ailerons and elevator halves. This servo has metal gears and can get 125 oz-in at 4.8V, and I was going to use a 6V system. Also, I was going to use a JR 8231 on the rudder (it's only 82 oz-in at 4.8V, so I may opt out of this one and go bigger....I just had this lying around).

Now, according to the manual, QQ says to get servos with at least 130 oz-in of torque.

I have used Hitec 645MGs on other 1/4 scales without a problem and they're in the 133 oz-in range at 6V.

My other alternatives would be Hitec 945MGs analog (153 oz-in at 6V), Hitec 5645MG digital (164 oz-in at 6V), Hitec 5945MG (180 oz-in at 6V), etc. I'd like to stay around $50 per servo if I can.

So.....maybe I should lean toward the 5645s or maybe the 5945s.....thoughts?

Thanks,

Rich

BTW: I'm on the list, and they called me Thursday, but I have to wait a week before I can order to get some additional $$$ (selling another plane).
