Default RE: Saito 125 RPM numbers

Two buddies of mine had their new 125s out over the weekend. One was in a Four Star 60 for break in with a 16x6 prop and I swear the only engine I've ever seen run better out of the box was a 25 year old OS FS120 I have (In my 4*120), the other was in a Hangar 9 Mustang that had previously been propelled by a Saito 100. The new 125 with a 13x13 prop was keeping up with a similarly sized mustang powered by a YS110 - still the 110 was a bit faster. The 125 was brand new (second flight, 4 tank of gas) and running quite rich. So...I might think that when the 125 started to come out of break-in it will give the 110 a very good run for its money. Especially in that it is lighter and when weight is concerned you need exponentially more power to move more weight and thus exponentially less to move less.

Regardless; it seems from what I have seen that the 125 is a very fine engine and it also seems to me that the YS110 is a very fine engine.

I'll leave it at that.
