I wouldnt worry about it getting gungy if it were a wally glider, but it's kinda pretty, the piper that is.. and so snow white..
Hmm.. dunno. Maybe i'll give this water based clear krylon spray another test.. or just go with the fiberglass and if it winds up too heavy, slap a sure start on there..
