Do those original kits follow the classic Nobler lines? The re-issue of several years back (which I suspect is what elenasgrumpy is referring to) just looked... well... wrong. I was going to build one when I heard the announcement. But the airplane just doesn't LOOK like a Nobler; plus, the retracts and other design mods simply turn me off.
I'd always heard that the need to make the wing removeable is what caused lots of headaches on the R/C Nobler. I also heard it was a real chore , as you indicated, to get the radio gear in.
The original Aldrich Nobler has lines that surpass the word "classic". The Top Flite/Great Planes re-release looks like it was designed by committee...[&o]
