I don't believe it needs any more money thrown at it than any other RTR in the class, change the steering servo, shim some of the slop out of the wheels, change the shock oil to a heavier set-up, put some racing tires on and it would be as competitive as the rest. Then it would be down to your driving skills, it's a good truck. Next upgrade the pipe to release some more power and you're set. For me the only attraction to the Mayhem would be the radio.

By the way, I don't own a helfire but have been racing against them with my CRT. A few of us are track friends and we swap trucks to check each others kits so my commented have been my experience of the trucks. The Mayhems short wheelbase makes the handleing a bit too nervous for my taste.
