Old Beginner
After an absence of more years than I can remember, I've recently got the R/C bug again. I started to get into this hobby years ago, took about 5 flights (self taught) before I crashed. Got sidetracked with life and am back but now want to do it right.
I've been reading some of the beginner advice posted here for the past few months and am starting a new "smarter" (I hope) approach to getting back in to R/C.
I've purchased the G2 flight trainer and will use that until sometime in the spring of next year to find an experienced flier here in the Boulder, CO area to guide me through to solo.
I have some general questions regarding newer glues, coverings, etc that have come on the market since I last built kits. (Maybe this belong in another forum?)
Back in the "good old days" I used Titebond & Monocote (I also built U control line stuff), "dope", etc. I want to build up a couple of trainers and want your advice about what are the best glues, coverings, paint to use for these projects. There are an entirely new set of glues, paints, & coverings since I last dinked around with this stuff and I want to start off on the right foot. (Actually I'll still continue to use both feet) I prefer practical advice from people who have "been there, done that" rather than rely on adverts to give me the straight scoop.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can send my way. This is an incredible source of information!
