Upgrading servos in Rap .30 V2
I am a second year helicopter pilot, having successfully made it through my first year with a Raptor .30. I have sold my original heli, and will soon be purchasing a new .30V2 with the TT .39 engine. I am doing my off season maintenance on my radio gear. Upon examining the servos I am using on the cyclic and collective (Futaba S-148 standard servos with aftermarket ball bearing top cases) I find that several of them have a large amount of gear lash, translating to quite a bit of slop by the time it goes through all of the linkage to the swashplate. I will be using the Futaba GY 410 with 9253 on rudder.
Here, then, is the question. I would like to replace these servos with a suitable Hitec product. Examining their website leads me to these possibilities:
1) 425 servos on all 4 cyclic/collective positions
2) 425's on cyclic and 475 on collective
3) 525 on cyclic/ 545 on collective
4) 5475 all around
It appears that the specifications are similar on the 4xx and 5xx servos, differing in the type of motor used. Any preference in this application for one series over the other regarding longevity or centering accuracy?
If I don't go with Hitec, I will put in 9202s all around.
