Just making note of the lack of quality control there. That is minor as compared to the two pieces of aileron stock. One piece is so hard it almost burned out my slot machine and the other is the lightest piece of balsa I have ever seen. Don't think I am going to use it.

I once bought a Falcon 56 with two leading edge pieces as you have described. These were machined to a specific shape and pre slotted for the ribs, so replacing one of them yourself would add a considerable amount of work to the job of building the kit. I called CGM and they asked me to send them in, saying that they would mail new ones to me that day. I almost refused because the heavy leading edge was of a material that mystified me. It was so heavy and with dark grain that hung loose all over it that I almost wanted to keep it for a conversation piece. I relented and sent it to them. As promised I received two different leading edges. Did they match in weight? Of course not, but they were usable.
