RE: History of EU1-A Pattern Plane???? SPA
You might try checking old Nats results. I did the work to document the Curare after I found it listed on a British site which showed top 5 equipment for every World Championship since 1960. Hanno flew it in the '75 WC.
There is a bit of a move to early 70s planes in SPA right now. As mentioned in another thread, there is also a good bit of modification done. That we allow 4 strokes has kind of changed the game. Some compromises have been required to meet sound levels necessary at many fields. Usually this means stretch the tail a little to help the balance. By rule, the builder can do the tips and some other things to suit himself and landing gear can be either trike or taildragger. The idea is to keep the plane approximately the same size as the original and to keep the looks the same, too. We've allowed some slack because we don't want to get in a situation where we are checking planes to see who's been naughty and who's been nice.
