I flew mine with an 8 cell. Was never underpowered. Have you checked the C.G. per the instructions? I doubt you're THAT nose heavy. Are the throws set per the instructions? Is the prop on backwards? Batteries fully charged?
Start at the beginning and make sure everything is set to specs. This is a great flying plane. You have something out of whack.
