Default New Cat

This is the XL Cat by Jay Turner. Plans for it are on rcboatmodeler.com Mine is 19" long total. Running on 6 and 7 cell with a stock motor. My sponsons were a little on the skinny side of my first build. This caused the boat to dig in on the outside sponson while cornering and loose a lot of speed. I just popped them off and made new ones. Tested yesterday...much better! The only place I strayed from the original plans are the steps on the sponsons to help break it loose from surface tension. It has Octura hardware with the .098" flex shaft to 1/8th prop shaft. Right now running a X432 from Octura. Still more testing to get the most out of the stock motor. Total cost of hull without hardware...$30. 15 for the wood. 10 for the Econocote. 5 for epoxy. Not too bad!
