Hi AHPowelson,
Did you mount your Saito 1.25 inverted or sideways?
I have just received my Saito 1.25 (my 1st Saito) which is going to replace the OS 1.60FX in the ST and I have not decided yet how to mount it. Inverted installations, while nicer, usually give me a hard time.
Also, where did you install your fuel tank? Just behind the firewall or touching the wing tube? I am wondering that if it is against the wingtube the fuel lines may be too long.
Thanks,
Chris
Hi Chris,
The engine is inverted. I've run both my Saito's (1.25 and .82) inverted and have never had any issues with them. I've been extremely impressed with the 1.25! I have the tank mounted in the 'stock' location behind the firewall. Prior to flying it, I was considering moving it back against the wing tube. After flying it, I've found the CG shift from the tank emptying to be neglible in the way the plane reacts. It's not worth it (to me) to make it more difficult than it needs to be by messing with the tank. If I did move it back, I'd use a Cline Regulator (as I've done with the .82).
HTH,
Abram
