where would be a good place to start to look for air leaks??
On the engine make sure the head bolts are tight, then check where the carburetor goes in the block and the backing plate. A lot of people seal where the carburetor goes to the black and backing plate with oxygen sensor safe high temperature RTV. That is what I use and do to mint.
