I didn't realize they were available as R/C, hence your usage of the term stock running gear.

In any event, I've seen them both converted to R/C using BEC to keep the weight low, micro servos and similarly small but high-torque running motors. If you position the weight slightly aft which allows the bow to ride over waves instead of plowing through them, they can handle amazingly choppy water. I'd recommend the PT-15 as it is bigger, wider, and has a smaller superstructure compared to the Vosper.

They plane out very well at speed.
