Default RE: Another Panzl Build Thread!!!

Does the Panzl need a hole cut in the cowl for the DA-100 carb to breath? I haven't been able to fly it much since noone has been at the field (won't fly alone) but the engine was pretty rich in the midrange... idled and full throttle are fine, except it will load up if left idleing or when taxiing out... takes a few seconds to get the power up.

How far is too far in on the low needle? I flew it last at about 1 1/4 turn, and next I will try 1 1/8 turn. I don't want to burn it up running the low needle too lean... I've heard you can do this with ZDZs...

I am at sea level and the engine has 4 gallons through it (still running lawnboy at 32:1) in another airframe.... did OK in there but I had to run the low end pretty lean in that plane too (to get rid of the midrange loading).
