Hey Jeff,
From someone who is also trying to get their Mx400 to fly, I understand your frustrations! I also had the gyro under the mast next to all the other electronics and I also experienced similar symptoms like what you are describing. I have decided to mount the gyro out on the boom in the alternate location to see if that changes anything or allows the gyro to act, well, like a gyro should. You might want to consider that as an option. If it doesnt work, then you can at least rule that out. I am waiting for the alternate mounting bracket to arrive from Tower in the next few days, then I will give it another go. Good luck!
