Carb Stack Question
I'm building a 1/4 scale Waco with a G62 where the carb fits inside the cowl with about a 1/2-3/4" clearance. I don't want to cut the cowl and have a stack hanging out. Will there be much of a mess on the inside of the cowl from the gas that spits out the of carb? I have to believe it isn't a big problem, otherwise engines with rear carbs would make a real mess of the inside of a fuselage. So, if no stack is really needed, how difficult would it be to start the engine with no choke? To open and close the choke, a small hole would be needed in the cowl, but certainly wouldn't be as bad a having a stack hanging out.
