Most wing-mouted LG wires bend back after awhile. Thicker LG wire, that's not a bad idea, along with beefier blocks in the wing. I wouldn't switch to a one-piece, though. Wouldn't look right.
I've never heard of anyone using Lithium-Ion for the receiver. Just a guess, but you might not be able to draw enough amps from it.
