Default RE: Bit OT, but how long is the grass at your field normally?

I never thought I would actually hear an rc airplane guy complain about somebody mowing the runway to often, and to short. He doesn't need it short for giant scale unless maybe its a warbird, he probably is just trying to help out. I would think that maybe there is more to the story since you mention cutting locks off. As for your club treasurer, if you can give me one good reason why anybody would put a wheel on something if it is NEVER supposed to hit the ground I might take you more seriously, na, that one is over he top lol. Thats like saying are props are never supposed to be run in airlol. It also sounds like someone in the club may think he is being hard on the mower from this practice of mowing the way he does. If he doesn't break it dont worry about it. In my club someone would break the shaft that drives the blades a couple times a year, how they did it don't ask me heck I have never busted a mower and I have hit all kinds of things mowing around old barnyards and grown up quad trails back in the woods, #2 stone, roots, pieces of concrete block, stumps, twine, chain, you name it, the mower still last as long as its going to anyway, rust is what kills a mower deck more than abuse.
