I received the kit in the mail today and to my delight, it's definatley an old pattern plane! It seems to be a hand crafted kit designed/made by Sonny Michael. The foam cores are in perfect condition as well as the rest of the kit and hardware including the canopy. It didn't come with a plan, just a two page instruction sheet that was hand typed. It also appears that this is a bigger version of his "Mini Challenger". The original post mark on the package is from 1974 so this makes it 32 yrs old! Check out the price on the label. I was only 14 in '74 and am thinking that was a bit of money for a kit back then. I still can't find any info about it or the maker so, I'm guessing I've got one of the few if any left around. I'll take some pics of the kit tommorow and post them too.
