RE: Help with Dare F9 Panther Kit
I just looked at the F9F on Dare's website. It should be a good flyer as it was designed by Pat Trittle, one of the best designers around.
My only experience with Dare kits was their A20 Havoc, a WWII twin originally designed for rubber power. I converted it to electric and it did fly, but not well. I think it had 10 or 15 flights on it when I dumped it on a faulty hand launch, never did bother to repair it.
The A20 kit had lazer cut parts but some of the parts did not match the plans. The plans are "builder" plans and the assumption is the purchaser of this kit has a lot of building experience so instructions were not included. After completion I still had a handful of lazer cut parts that I had no idea where they went as the parts did not match anything on the plans.
Since the F9F is a Trittle design, I'm guessing the lazer cut parts wil be correct. Also, since the F9F is designed for electric from the outset, she will be a good flyer.
I hope the covering is something other than tissue (like the A20).
