nope if you press on the reverse stick the boat will go foreward. u would press reverse to slow down my friend's boat so when i got my boat i was used to the other controler and crashed it into the rocks. it still works though and i need to go back to the factory and buy even more propelers. i am on my 4th set now and i've had the boat for 2 months.

and it has the same back of the hull. they are all made by a company called WSN, SYMA, and Hen Long. they all come out of the same factory.
