hey all, just after i bought the CT5, while swimming in the bay, i come across some 1/10s, Himoto Brand, though a decent looking knock off, i wasnt going to be their guinea pig.. but they have some nice looking lids and the price was right,, I picked up this one for 10.00 bin and 15 s+H, it took about 10 business days to arrive as it was out of stock in the US warehouse when i bought it... its made of a pretty durable lexan is a bit thicker and stiffer than the stock CEN Porche 911 the CT5 came with... It also sits lower and required a a small bit of extra trimming to allow head clearance, and tire room. i also added a few extra holes for a few differnt things so i can start/run/refuel/ tune HSN without lifting the lid.

the body is the saleen and is the only one available right now but is in 4 or 5 different colors.
i live on a tar/chip road. so its not very smooth. i was flying around today after i switched from a faulty stock Skyion Tx to my JR XS3 Pro Tx and used a JR RS 310 mirco rx.. 500 ft with no issues. gotta love JR....
anyways, while tooling down the road, i rolled it a few times when i got sideways and tripped on the taller peebles. it took some good scuffs and scraps and tumbles and pretty much only shows some minor scuffing on the outter plastic film....
heres a pic of the stock body with decals as pictured from the manufacturer...
heres one stock out of pkge before i put it on......
heres a few shots after i fit the body, trimmed it out and did some driving.
Profile stock with no decals on the item except what it manufacture applied
Front view notice the small slots i cut in what is normal cooling intakes on the saleen in the middle of front hood and on the roof.. this only allows a small bit of air flow but does help move air around.
Front Top view here you can see where i located the antenna hole on roof on passenger side.. you ll also see the zip pull i set up for the gas tank lid on front of roof drivers side and a view of the cooling head protruding JUST thru the roof.
Rear View notice how much lower the body sits... its proably an inch or so lower than the Porche 911 body. needed a good size hole for the head, added HSN adjustment hole in upper right rear window.
Drivers side view notice i cut the drivers window out for access to the ps and to fuel up with lid on[8D]
i burnt tanks 12 & 13 today.... so breakin is basically done,,,, after a small adjustment tune for performance i let it rip... after a few warm up runs and checking the range was more than the 60 feet i was getting from the stocker, i started to fly up and down the road.. i took a screaming ride to my neighbors 500 ft down the road and back and checked the temp immediatly when it got back to me... 209!!! sweet, i can get a bit leaner but it really screams right now and 209 is nice and cool, but not TOO COOL.. temps today were in the mid/high 70s, and we had about 90 percent humidity... the air was so thick with water vapor, even though it was almost 90% clear skies, they looked a dullish blue/grey instead of just clear blue... so id say it was about 85 or more with the heat factor. this engine just at it up and was left wanting for more........still in the top end gearing so off the line wasnt SUPER FAST, but once at 25 mph in some 15 or so feet, the motor just wound up and purred....
next i ll be applying the decals to my liking, upgradeing and replaceing the stock rims/tires.... after yesterday and today, i m already seeing threads on one tire. heh.
i d also like to get a tuned pipe for this baby as the stocker is composite plastic and just doesnt hold the heat needed to allow proper scavangeing from the pipe.. so a tuned pipe will increase performance but will raise running temps a bit, and at 209, im not worried about a bit more heat... any advice as to a really good pipe for this would be very helpfull..
so far i have not had a belt issue or steering issue others have found, but again im only on tank 15 next time i fill it...
any comments or suggestions are appreciated..
for 25.-30. dollars this is a very good lid imho... i ll shurely buy another one this time in Green or Black..
