ORIGINAL: old n slow

I have a couple question that I know someone can answer.

1. If I charge my tx and rx batteries today and can't fly but can 4-5 days later, will it be safe to fly without putting them on the charger?

2. I have an Avistar Select with OS 40 LA and it seem to take forever to get it off the ground. Running the 10x6 that came with it. Would performanace improve with a 11x5 or 6 prop or will I have to buy a larger engine for it.
