Oh its a TT engine, get an os, you will be much happier.

Seriously though, take a look at the back plate for scrapes. If the fan loosens it can give you up/down play in the crank shaft. Usually it won't spin at all but if its just a little loose it will drag on the backplate and cause what appear to be tuning problems.

Cool Power has synthetic oil, no worries there.
