Default RE: Scale Lights Maxilite Control Unit

i found this interesting link when i was looking for a lighting schematic for my cp2:

[link=http://www.rc-cam.com/navlight.htm]R/C Cam Navlight System[/link]

it is based on a PIC Microcontroller, is Tx switchable, and has a prgrammable strobe too. the circuit looks simple, flexible, and efficient if you need tx switchability. the soldering looks easy, however you need to be able to flash the free firmware on to the chip with a chip burner. i know some local electronics boutiques that can burn eproms for a nominal fee.

i was looking for the simplest strobe circuit for my cp2 and haven't found one with less than like 10 nodes (too much weight & complexity). i want something lighter that will simply wink my led when the battery is plugged in. i want this to go with my other steady burn & red flashing nav lights for fun flying. anyone know of a good lightweight strobe schematic out there?
