That's absolutely true. if it's your first nitro, it doesn't matter if it's a Redcat, Traxxas, Losi, HPI, or whatever, you're going to have the same problems no matter what.
I have noticed, however, that the taper in the sleeve of the VX18 (Maybe the 16 too, I haven't seen it happen on one yet) is a little too severe, and that causes the engine to sieze at TDC.
I'm gonna try to get the powers that be to get a different supplier for engines, but I can't make any promises.
