I never worked on a six cylinder Merc. I would start by just getting all the carbon out of exhaust ports and maybe open them up some. There may be a after market exhaust system with more of a tunned pipe effect. She is going to be very hard on your pocket book for gas. Thats why I went 4 stroke all the way.
