Default RE: U-Can-Do 3d 46?

Blisster...

On the 46...any servo over 50ozs works ok. Better if you are around 75 ozs. I try not to scimp on servos, even if you upgrade over time, because they can always be used (almost always) in your next plane. Like the UCD60 which needs over 90 ozs to fly good. But the 46 is pretty forgiving. I know people who fly it with the Futaba 3004 servos are 44 ozs torque. I cannot recommend that though.

On the servo breakage issue. I broke two of the servos. I think the gear is too brittle. More than likely what happened to mine is I overtightened the screw. I used to torqueing the screws down pretty good. I think it fractures the karbonite gear. I use almost exclusively Hitec servos. Mostly I've upgraded to the HS5945, HS5645, HS5625 depending on what application. I've never had a problem except with the karbonite gear servos and the mini HS85BB I was using for a throttle. Other than that I like the servos and use them a bunch.

Thanks
Barry
