congrats been reading your thread you built that bird in a flash. I havn't been to the yucatan side but have spent some time in puerto escondito and other W.coast spots that sun is a burner after 10:00 am hope you had a big hat way to go!!
Thanks Tim. Yes, the sun is a SOB here, all year long with a "winter" of around 80ºs F. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Puerto Escondido, did you have lots of sea food?

Congrats on the maiden Joe. Take care of it now and enjoy a job well done. One of the guys on our field just bought an ARF version and it doesn't look near as good as yours.
Thanks my friend

I agree that the ARF version doesn't look very good, I didn't like the scheme either and I was lucky enough to get the kit covered without any problem. A good thing about covering this plane is that everything is straight, blunt and square, so the covering process is very straight forward.

Really? I managed to get 10 minutes of flying in this weekend. How much can you envy me?
Graham
Graham, I envy you, I'm sick of sweating like a pig. Period
IBreakeForNobody:
I'm afraid of kits; I have been ARFing my way through R/C, and my instructor (who now just tells me when I do something wrong) is desperately trying to convince me to build a kit.
I'm glad your build went well, and fast! Great maiden, and a great video! Hope you enjoy flying your Dazzler 40!
Thanks for the compliments man! and wellcome to our group therapy
Don't be affraid, just pick an easy target for your first kit. I've heard the 4-Star or the Tiger-2 make great first kits, and don't forget the Dazzler, you've seen in this thread how "easy" it was.
As for the airplane per-se, I found it a little boring, it's not very fast, lacks rudder authority, very difficult (for me) to keep in a hover.... and I'm affraid that it will tear up in flight
I think it would be a great third or fourth airplane though, it's the kind of plane that goes where you point it to.
I'm used to the flying caracteristics of the (heavy) Seagull Extra 300 I usually fly, where I have a somewhat big dependancy on mass/momentum, and need to
fly it all the time, with the Dazzler I feel like I could just fly it hands off and move the sticks only to stop it from crashing, I don't know, I must need another kind of therapy now
