Thanks FlyinTiger..I really appreciate the info. Right now the lows for elevator are right at 12-13* ..its about 1 1/8"..high rates are 3.5". How much expo do I need if any on low rates..I have 50% set on high rates. I have not set up a gasser for 3D before but have flown a lot of 1/4 scale stuff in the past such as Giles 200 and Ohio Super Stars and Extra 260's but that was long before any plane was built with such large and deep beveled control surfaces. I don't plan to launch into any 3d stuff for a few flights and I know I can handle the plane alright as I have lots of 3d flying on smaller stuff. I will be setting c/g in the middle of the numbers BTW.

plenty for low rates
Depending on where you put your CG, you may end up dialing down the elevator...if you pull full elevator on low rates and it corkscrews instead of looping you have too much elevator!
I show people the throws for low rate and most people that have never set up a plane with airfoiled tail surfaces can't believe how little the control surfaces move for how much maneuverability I have in the air.
Good luck flying and enjoy!
