Default RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

So far not so good putting the larger motors on my SS/AA.
The motors might be too heavy so I'm making a tear down
to bring the wing forward. This plane has a wingspan of 16"
but only a wing area of 38".
The plane that flew so great has an 18" wingspan but a
51" wing area. Big difference!
The stock AA if you modified a mono with an extra 8" would
give you a 16" wingspan with a wing area of roughly 40".
That's probably not enough.
The plane would be faster but landings would be plowing ground.
The only thing I can think of is add more foam or build up a wing
to at least a 50" wing area.

The SS/AA is now chopped history. I've added this extended Arrow
wing and the larger motors with the Defender's props and tests so far
have been good. Wingspan is 24" and the wing area is 50" so it should
be a good match. The larger motors should be heavy enough to shead
some wind and make for some nice glide ins.

Changed the tail section for more stability and added 2 grams to the nose.
I'm getting there. She now weighs 28 grams and the larger motors pull it
with no problem. I'm sure you could have a plane at 35 grams or more.

Wings can be changed in about 5 minutes. This one has foam wing tips
and a width of 3 inches.
