To me personally in the traxxas line-up the revo was the most versatile (for racing and bashing) i have looked at the savage x by what i can read in there forum there's a lot of problems with this truck and the lst2 it's really nice and has good reviews everywhere but to big for my personal liking and what's making me happy is a revo 3.3
As far as the Savage X goes if you read what people that have been in the hobby for a while and know what they are doing that own one do not have as much or any problems with it. The ones not all but most that are having problems are people new to the hobby and I have never recommended a monster truck for a fist time RC truck. I will say at this point I would not swap my older Savage for an X. But I will be changing the bulkheads and differentials so I can get to them quicker not because I have ever had a problem with mine but because I want to be able to get to them to use different weight differential oil for different tracks. Being I only run a 2 speed do not need the quick access trans case and the X only has the 7mm lowered the transmission and engine. At some time I am going with the LCG chassis, which lower the center of gravity on these by 12.mm.
