Default Aka Bubba Was the Star of the Show!

Gordon (Aka Bubba) is new to the Anchorage area so I drew him a map to our Palmer Alaska flying field where we were having a club get-together. He planned on bringing his daughters and helping me run my newly assembled Wren 54 (which really impressed the troops).

On the same day, Palmer was celebrating "Colony Days" and had several events going on which included a carnival and a parade.

Well...I got a call right about the time I got to the field from Bubba. It seems he forgot the map I gave him and he was a bit lost, calling from a neighboring town. I gave him further directions to Palmer and didn't give it another thought. Until...

I got another call from Bubba saying he would be out at the field after the parade. "THE PARADE?, I asked. "Why are you watching the parade?" "I'm not really watching it", he replied, "I'm, uh, in it." HUH???

It seems that when he finally got to Palmer he made a wrong turn and entered the staging area of the parede and kind of got inserted amongst the antique cars which were SUPPOSED to be in the parade. When the cops finally got to him it was too late because there were a few cars already behind him and it would have been too difficult to back up everyone and let Bubba out. So there he was with his 2002 red Jeep, his beautiful 6 & 2 year old daughters, Alanna & Cecilia (smiling and waving), and Cecilia's teddy bear placed on the hood, in the middle of a bunch of Model T's, Model A's, and other antiques in the Colony Days Parade.

This all occurred this last weekend.

Oh ya...he finally got to the field where a great time was had by all!
