Default RE: Newbie Electronics Confusion

ORIGINAL: Jerrak

Hi All,

If I buy the GWS Slow Stick with:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...4&I=LXKLA3&P=K
(GWS ParkX2/R6NIIX1/ICS480X1/7N1600AAAX1 Flight Pack J/S)
-and-
a receiver crystal

Will that get me in the air? If I have chosen an inappropriate flight pack, can someone recommend an inexpensive one that will work with my transmitter?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Tom
That will work fine!!!

This will work also, assuming you are using the standard Slow Stick motor

This set-up is a little lighter, but the Slow Stick can take the heavier pack as well.

If you are open to a simple kit, I higly recommend the Magpie from Mountian Models. All foam!

Magpie - CL 2
I recommend the $60 package with two wings.
Has slow fly/trainer wing AND an aileron sport wing.
Master the first, then advance to the second.

They offer a complete package with the slow fly wing and all the electronics for
$130
Makes it so easy to get it right! You can add the sport wing later if you like.

If you perfer a balsa fuselage, then try the SmoothE

SmoothE - E$50
Easy to build Balsa and foam kit. Build as 3 Channel Slow Flyer
Optional 4 channel aileron wing when you are ready

They offer a package with both wings for $70
Or get the slow fly package with all the electronics for $146

These are outstanding planes from a company with outstaning service. I have one of their planes, the Boomer glider and just purchased the SmoothE with both wings.

MM has great planes. You won't be disappointed.
