The English wizard of design etc = David Boddington all his books are good value even if a little dated.
USA = "Radio Control Miniature Aircraft" by Robert Lopshire = covers all aspects including building your own field box and power panel (FWIW mine still works well after 15+ years)
UK again = "Radio Control Guide" by Norman Butcher - every thing you needed to know about how to install RC systems and linkages to achieve all mechanical set ups etc..inc motors ab\nf learning to fly. see also =
