Yeah, newer models come out all the time. I looked at the catalog after I posted and discovered that it is obsolete.
The ICOM Q-5 looks like it would do the same thing. That's what I will get if my -7A craps out.
You could probably still find some -7A's and some -10's for sale by phoning some ham radio outlets, though.

Cheers Harley - I'll take a look at the Q-5. If I found an R10 for sale at a ham outlet, I'd be dead happy - coz then I could transfer the programming data over from my current one (still has the data - it just doesn't scan anymore .. or turn off) to a new one via the data transfer function, rather than having to try to reprogram another unit from scratch. Although I don't know for sure, I kinda doubt that I can do a transfer from the R10 to any other model type.

Saw a couple of R10's on Ebay actally... if I didn't have such bad experiences with Ebay in the past, I would be sorely tempted !
