Just Bought a TRex SE, Help Me with Picking Electronics!
Well, I couldn't be more giddy. I bit the bullet and bought my first TRex, the SE model. What I need from you TRex experts is a hand in picking the radio, receiver, servos and gyro. While at my LHS, I noticed an issue of RC Heli magazine that had a review of my new heli, so I bought it. For the review, they used the JR 9303 with the R770 receiver, 3 Hitec HS-56hb servos, and Airtronics 94761Z servo for the rudder and the Futaba GY401 gyro. While I'm cool with the servos and gyro used for their test review, the radio is a bit more money than I would like to spend at this point in time ($550). So, since they found the servos and gyro used all fit the heli well without modification, unless anyone out there knows something they don't, I'd like to just go with what they used.
That brings us to the radio and receiver. What can you guys recommend for under $300 that works well with the SE? While I'm not flying any 3D stunts yet, I do plan on doing it in the future as my skills progress, so I want something that will compliment the SE for 3D flying, but at the same time, I do have a budget. Unless it's absolutely necessary, I don't want something with every bell and whistle that could possibly be hung on a radio. I'd like to keep it as simple as possible while still giving me room to grow.
Thanks!
