Well if ya want cheap ya could look on eBay for good cheap buggies I'm assuming you want a 1/8th scale which is a smart move because my first one was a 1/10th scale and it sucked. But anyways here is what i bought for my first 1/8th scale and it has taken a beating and still hasn't broke anything. Also the MACH .28 that comes on it is decent for a first time ride. If ya do decide to go with a rtr first thing first...... Replace servos and get a new radio either a 75 or the new great thing is the Spektrum System.
