I fly off a grass field, 1 inch tall grass, no issues with my landing gear, and i've had it for about 7 months now, not even a cracked wheel pant, as for the flaps, you really dont need them, she lands very slowly, but if you really want flaps on it, do as aussie and ram3500,mix channel 1 and channel 6, one aileron is on ch.1 and the other is on ch.6
start using 1/8 of a inch increments until it feels just right.
few things about flying this plane of grass(any conventional gear plane).
slowly apply power on takeoff.
pull elevator while on transit to and from the pit.
Cheers.

Hi, I would like to add flaps to my new ARF plane. It's a World Model Extra 330L with a .91 4Stroke OS engine. I haven't started it yet, but what I am planning is to cut each aileron in two to make FLAPS. So I will use 2 servos per wing.
Why ? Because I need slow landings as our field here has no hard runway and only rougth grass runway. I don't want to damage the plane. And It could be interesting for a change...
question #1 : what should the dimension be for the flaps ?
question #2 : how can I simulate the behaviour of my "plane to be" in the simulator by modifying the Extra 300 from Reflex XTR and adding FLAPS to the model ?
Thanks for the ideas/answers.
Regards,
Marc.
