RE: any fast and cheap buggies?
My Matrix had a out of control Hyper 7 smash into it the other weekend, pretty much a full speed shunt (my car was stationary on the side of the track, not on the track), car suffered zero damage dispite getting launched 10 feet and landing on its roof (airfilter was ripped off, thankfully the impact stalled the motor), Hyper 7 had a broken suspension mount, broken front wishbone and a bent drive arm.
Get the Matrix ARR (cheaper than the Hyper 8) as the stock motor, while powerful is not really that competitive and boy it runs hot... I'm running a Thunder Tiger .21 pullstart in it, good bang for your buck.
My mate bought a Sho (RE: A rebadged Swift Pro) 2 months ago, not really sure what the fuss is about, the motor is only averege and while the car is built strong the handling is on the clumsy side, the shocks are not that great (tends to bounce a lot on the bumps even with soft setups) and while the company backs it up with full part support onlin e they charge a fortune to mail the bits to you.
