Hey guys I know this is an MT2 page but I figured somebody here will have owned or knows about the origonal MT. I was wondering if it is "safe" to put a bigger engine than the .15 FE in it, and if I can how big can I go before things start breaking. I figured I could put a .18 similar to the one in the MT2 in and be ok but I wanted to get some opinions.

If you check a few post up you will see mine started out as a MT 1 Racer. If you have the MT1 RTR the biggest thing you have to worry about is the differentials. You need to up date them to the heavy duty but I would wait till they messed up. Here are two links one with the heavy-duty gears and one on the engine I recommend.

Any thing is better then the .15FE. I had one in my Rush so I know about this engine.
A lot of the parts from the MT 2 will fit the MT 1. I call mine a MT 1 ¾ as I have up graded it to all most the specifications of the MT2SS. I have even added some things that HPI said would not fit like the 100cc fuel tank.
One other thing when you get a better engine get a better exhaust as the MT1 had a very poor header!
