Default RE: There is more to flying than keeping the plane in the air

ITs interesting though. How could the club let a completely new guy, new to RC, just go ahead and fly the plane without any instruction? Shouldnt the club instructor at least keep him on a leash (buddy box). I mean, if a new person came to our club, he would get a firm introduction of the rules. Isnt there a general rule that if you go to a new club (even when you are a solo pilot), you have to get checked out by the instructors to see if you are a safe flyer? I mean, just general notes here, but if this was going on in my club, he probably wouldnt come to our field very oftenly. I must admit that before two days ago, i hated flying the left hand pattern, but due to the windy conditions i was forced to fly that way. Heck, i benefited from it so much that both my patterns couldnt be better (a few complements from the crowd leads me to that decision).
