Default RE: Sullivan Aramid Cable

ORIGINAL: onepern

This is the first time I've used this I'm looking for tips. I was thanking of threading it Threw the clevis then using a knot and glue on the ruder end and using the Eye bolt with crimp tube and glue on the servo end ?
I have used it 2 ways.

With the crimp AND a knot at the end of the crimp. This is further secured with a DROP of thin CA. This is on both ends of the cable.

When I am short on clearances I leave off the crimp and just use the eyebolt. I do make sure that the knot is not going to slip and tighten, then I put a drop of thin CA on the knot. I have used this method on one end and on both ends with excellent results.

I normally do the servo end first, then run the cable (I try to use the red nyrod sheathing whenever possible) through the plane and do the rudder/elevator last. This way I have more room for my "ham hands" to work in. In any case you want your loop through the eyebolt to be about 3/8" long so it can move freely.
