The CX battery with the stock 10t motor in the CP does not perform well. I could get it to hover for about a minute and then that was it.

It is much better to go with a 3S Lipo and 9t or 8t motor. Helidirect has a E-Power Lipo that is 19.99 plus 9.99 for the charger. It is a 11.4v 3S Lipo with 1300 mah rating. Although it has a 7C rating, it still flies nice. This is a good cheap battery and charger if you are starting to learn hovering and FF flight. When I upgraded from the stock motor and battery to the Lipo, it was amazing how much better the heli flew. I also have upgraded to the dual tail mod and I love it so far. The tail motors are a lot cooler after flying for 15 minutes.
