I am also in the process of painting my Hellcat the tri-color scheme. What would you recommend as the sequence for applying the three colors on the fuselage and WHY ?
I think everyone who ever suggested an answer to this question said to do the lightest color first. It will usually take only one coat of a darker paint over a lighter one. So when you do the next color, your only task will be to get it's placement correct and you won't have to worry about it's coverage. The less you gotta make right, the more chance you got of doing it right. Also, since dark over light takes less paint, you'll also have a very minor benefit of less weight of paint.
