Default RE: pylon racer: what one to buy??

Some other speed 400 sized pylon racers: (120 to 160 mph depending on the brushless & lipo power setup)

"Quick" IMO, the most speed bang for the buck. A Mega 16/15/3 will be fine. Mine has a Neu 1105/2.5Y motor, TP 3S 2100, Ph-35 ESC, 4.5x4.1 apc prop. This is a very fast setup.

"VIP", good plane, very popular, wing is a tad thick but people have stuffed big power into them and flew them sucessfully.

Larger pylons planes are easier to see but generally cost more but can hold more powerful setups to go faster!

"Avionik" D99 if you can find a used one. This was the racing version for F5D in 1999. Rules have since changed so these airframes come on the market every now and then.

Full blown current F5D pylon racers: Excite F5D, Nemesis F5D, Jibe, Batleth, Cyclone, serveral more that I can't remember....But all are $$$

Check out the stuff at www.soaringusa.com they've got some great stuff and super service.
