I have noticed a few experienced guys at the club bringing out trainers now and then just to relax with, and seem to enjoy it quite a bit. I was wondering if I have missed out on a bit of fun by not trying something like a Kadet or Telemaster along the way?
Whether or not you're missing something is entirely up to you. Some pilots continue enjoying their trainers long after moving on to more challenging aircraft. Other pilots leave their trainers behind and never look back. If you don't feel like you're missing anything, then you're probably not. I enjoy taking my trainer out and flying it, but I have friends who have no interest in flying unless they're challenging themselves and practicing new skills.
